Some of you might wonder why this collection of original songs by Robin Anita White is posted on my Web site. Good question! And the answer is ... because I re-recorded Robin's vocals, mixed Tracks Nos. Two and Four, mastered all of the tracks, and produced the CD. [Track Nos. One, Three, and Five were recorded and mixed by Darryl Harris at Crazy Horse Studio.] Robin is no longer with us, but I believe her music is worth a listen! She was a stellar vocalist!
Robin was my classmate, my friend, and fellow musician. She passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2025. I shared homeroom with her for my two years at Julius West and all three years at Richard Montgomery. It wasn’t until the last day of our high school forty-year reunion ... during our Sunday afternoon picnic ... that I fully realized her love of music. At some point in the following year, she called me and said she had a bunch of original tunes she wanted to record and put out on a CD. Knowing that I was just finishing my first recording project, she asked if I would be willing to serve as her recording engineer. I said sure.
This turned into quite a bit of time spent with her as she did not have a car at the time and each recording session required me to drive from Brookeville over to Germantown and pick her up and then deliver her back home afterwards. Those times in the car turned out to be pretty special as we spoke of many things. As for the project, it ended up that I also co-wrote one of the songs, did some MIDI sequencing, played a bit of guitar, and did all of the art work for the front and back cover. And we also contacted a fellow classmate and stellar bass player to add some punch to one of the tunes ... “Doors.” If memory serves correct, she ordered 600 copies and sold or gave away every single one of them.

In case you’re wondering, the name of the collection is “Frespirity” ... is a title Robin claimed to capture her view of life. The collection of tunes is posted on various music distribution channels on the internet (YouTube, Apple, Spotify). And while there are quite likely no more CDs available, each of the five MP3s are still available for purchase on Amazon.
Any rate ... just wanted to give everyone an opportunity to hear Robin sing the songs that were so very special to her.
To reiterate words from the reverse cover of her CD ... "Robin would like to thank God for all of the special people in her life." Click here to read her obituary.
