Because Mommy Said So—Introduction
Many people are wrongly accused of committing abuse of one sort or another. But what about the individuals who are
the supposed victims? How do they reconcile a world that has been lead to believe something happened when their heart and mind know that it did not. This piece explores what life might be like for a young woman in just such a situation as she sets out into adulthood and all of the rigors that go along with that. This piece was submitted to a short story contest held by the Washington Post Magazine in Spring 2007.
