About "Pillars Of Heaven"
Perhaps the residents of Pompeii, Italy should have been praying just a little harder on
that fateful day in 79 A.D. when Mount Vesuvius erupted and then proceeded to bury the
city for almost two thousand years.  Judging from the well-worn steps, it looks as though
they gave it the old college try!  This photograph was taken during a trip to Italy in 2011.
